He looked good, had a few really good chances, If the line gets in sync they are going to be friggen monsters.

It started out TV-JT-Okposo but it changed to TV-JT-Clutterbuck later on & I like that second idea a lot.

That second sounds like a version of a line he had here. Sniper(Vanek)-Playmaker-Power forward which seems to work for him.

Hopefully he stars putting a few in.

Didn't JT and Clutterbuck play together in juniors? I recall an article about that after he was traded. Hope he can be a little more effective for you guys offensively. He has a pretty underrated shot, just needs to work on the aim a little bit.

Yes they did play together in jrs & clutter benifited greatly... Id like to see that line stick together for a while.

Id rather bring back Oleg Kvasha than see Okpsoko on the top line for 1 more shift. He flat out plays better away from Tavares.

**** If I was the coach, I would scratch KO next game, this is his 2nd if not 3rd penatly he has taken while we are on the PP, im sorry but that is unacceptable.

Just a litte fact, Vanek is more north americanized than some other players. Started his career in the USHL, then when to an american college, than the AHL, than the NHL. The only non north american hockey he has played was during last year's lockout. Leaf fans, bright bunch they are.

The line was vanek, JT, and KO......there were a few times clutterbuck was out there but only once or twice was it from the drop.....the rest were on the fly. That said clutterbuck looked great last night. Vanek, Bouchard, and the defense did not. I'll give Vanek a pass cause it's a new team....huge rivalry game, and new system. But, no excuse for floating.......I don't mind not scoring, but you cannot get caught watching.

I've been watching hockey a long time and this defense is the worst I've seen. There's just no pairing who looked good. Amac and hammer are the "top pair" but they looked shaky at best. Those two wouldn't be more than a second pair on most teams. Yes they log minutes but they are overused and it showed. There is absolutely no threat from the point. Look at how many shots the rangers d man got thru vs the isles.....it was all night.

Cappy said his defense worked on the same mistakes they made last night (and previous games) for weeks. Guess what.....you cannot make diamond from cubic zirconium. Hickey and carkner get beat every shift, Donovan looks outmatched and nervous, martinek hasn't played in how long.....cause it shows. Amac and hammer are overworked and really don't bring much offensively. That said, their effort is there.

Martin/ cizikas/anyone but Bouchard (missing ulstrom)
